1 – India have won the Asia Cup the maximum number of times with 7 series victories followed by Sri Lanka with four victories. Pakistan is the next best team with two victories. Sri Lanka has played the most Asia Cups (14) followed by India, Pakistan and Bangladesh who have played 13 each. India Champions (1984, 1988, 1990–91, 1995, 2010, 2018)
2 – Sachin Tendulkar scored his 100th century against Bangladesh in the 2012 edition of the Asia Cup hosted by Bangladesh.
3 – Tamim Iqbal became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score four consecutive fifties in the previous edition of the Asia Cup

4 – Virat Kohli’s knock of 183 runs in 2012 vs Pakistan is the highest individual score in Asia Cup history. Kohli also holds the record for the highest individual score made by a captain in the tournament.

5 – Bangladesh have hosted Asia Cup for five times, which is the highest by any country.
6 – Former Sri Lankan batsman Sanath Jayasuriya is the highest run-getter in Asia Cup history with 1220 runs. He has also scored most runs in a single edition (378). He holds the record for the most centuries (six).
7 – Sri Lanka are the only side to participate in 13 editions, while India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have played Asia Cup for 12 times each.
8 – India’s former spinner Arshad Ayub is the only Indian player to take 5-wicket haul in Asia Cup. He achieved the feat against Pakistan in 1998’s event played in Dhaka. He took five wickets for 21 runs.

9 – Highest Partnership in Asia Cup hold by Pakistan for Both ODI & T20I. The partnership of 224 between Nasir Jamshed and Mohd. Hafeez (Pakistan) in 2012 against India remains the highest partnership in Asia Cup ODI history. The partnership of 114* between Umar Akmal & Shoaib Malik in 2016 against United Arab Emirates remains the highest partnership in Asia Cup History of T20I format.

10 – Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Cricket stadium will be the hosts of the 2022 Asia Cup with UAE hosting it for the fourth time after 1984, 1985 and 2018 editions. The first edition of the Rothmans Asia Cup was held in 1984 in Sharjah, UAE, the location of the headquarters of the Asian Cricket Council (Before moving to Sri Lanka).
