CP Rizwan become a UAE’s new Captain – Announced by Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). C.P. Rizwan, the newly-appointed T20 captain of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) T20I cricket team for the Asia Cup qualifier hails from the vibrant town of Thalassery in Kerala, India.

Chundangapoyil Puthiyapurayil Rizwan (Born: 19 April 1988) is an Emirati cricketer. He has played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team since 2019 and was appointed Twenty20 International captain in 2022 during Asia Cup Qualifier.

Asia Cup Qualifier
The Emirates Cricket Board announced Rizwan as the team’s captain on Friday in preparation for the Asia Cup qualifiers. Hope they will be entering into the Asia Cup 2022. This is the first time in the history of United Arab Emirates cricket team, a player from the state of Kerala, India is going to lead the UAE team.

Asia Cup 2022 UAE will be played in Dubai and Sharjah between August 27 and September 11. India and Pakistan will face each other in the A Group opener in Dubai on August 28.
