India won by six wickets, Asia Cup 2014, Dhaka

The India vs Pakistan encounter in 2014 will always be remembered as the best Asia Cup match between the two teams. This was the match that truly announced to the world that Virat Kohli has there to stay in the Indian cricket team. Batting first, Pakistan posted a total of 329 runs with the opening batters Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed scoring a century each. In the second innings, it was Virat Kohli’s show. The right-hander hammered 183 runs to proper India to victory in 47.5 overs. 

India won by 39 runs, 1996 World Cup, Bengaluru

One of the most dramatic World Cup matches played between India and Pakistan has to be the second quarter-final in the 1996 World Cup. Batting first in the game, Navjit Sindhu flaunted his class by playing a knock of 93 runs. He was the lone warrior for the team and his knock steered India to a score of 287 runs. Chasing the total, Pakistan were restricted to 248 runs. Venkatesh Prasad and Anil Kumble caused the most damage by picking three wickets each.

India won by 38 runs, Four-Nations Cup 1985, Sharjah

One of the most thrilling India vs Pakistan games was played during the Four-Nations Cup. It was a low-scoring affair. Indian batters succumbed to pressure as they ended up with only 125 runs in their 50 overs. The chances of India winning were extremely bleak. However, Kapil Dev, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, and Ravi Shastri ripped apart Pakistan’s batting line-up. They picked seven wickets in the whole to stop Pakistan at a score of 87.
