Bowling first, the Royals’ bowlers struggled a bit in the powerplay as the Kings scored 50 for the loss of one wicket at the end of it. Johnson Charles looked good for his 29 but fell in the ninth over. Three wickets in quick succession helped the Royals pull back things in the middle phase.

Tim David along with David Wiese build a solid partnership for the sixth wicket. David played some fantastic strokes and scored 40 off just 23 balls before getting dismissed on the last ball of the innings. Wiese remained unbeaten on 28 as they finished their innings on 169/6. Hayden Walsh Jr picked up two wickets for the Royals.

The Royals got off to a shaky start, losing Quinton de Kock on a duck in the very first over. Corbin Bosch joined Kyle Mayers and started the recovery work. They scored at a brisk rate as they ended their powerplay by scoring 67. Both Mayers and Bosch put 84 between them before the former was dismissed on 33.

There was no stopping Bosch at the other end as he brought up his fifty. He departed on 81 but not before taking his side closer to the target. Skipper David Miller then remained unbeaten on 29 off 18 balls to take his side across the line in the penultimate over. Alzarri Joseph picked up three wickets but it wasn’t enough as they suffered a loss by six wickets.

Barbados Royals Jump To The Top Spot

Barbados Royals Jump To The Top Spot In The Points Table Of The CPL 2022 After Barbados Royals’ Fourth Straight Win.

Barbados Royals have been on a roll in this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL). They have been led brilliantly by David Miller and are unbeaten so far. They have won all their four games and will look to keep performing in a similar manner in their upcoming games.

Saint Lucia Kings, on the other hand, are struggling at the moment. They have managed to win only a single game out of four. After losing the first two games, they registered their first win of the CPL 2022 but failed to carry forward the winning momentum as they lost against the Royals. They will have to fire in unison to challenge the Tallawahs in their next fixture.

Player of the Match

Corbin Bosch was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock of 81.

It is a fantastic feeling. Was happy that I could put in some contribution. I will do whatever the team needs me to do. The team comes first. I think when I was batting with Kyle, we talked about taking some calculative risks which helped us go over the line.

– Corbin Bosch

Winning the toss helped. Was a very good wicket. Restricting them to 169, I was very pleased. The boys with the ball were superb and the batters were clinical. We have got a balanced squad.

– David Miller, Barbados Royals Skipper
