Ravi Rampaul shines in The 21st match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 saw Trinbago Knight Riders defeat Jamaica Tallawahs in a close-fought contest. Brian Lara Stadium In Tarouba, Trinidad hosted this exciting contest and the Knight Riders didn’t disappoint the home crowd that came out in large numbers.

Jamaica Tallawahs skipper Rovman Powell won the toss and opted to bat first. Things quite didn’t work out for them batting first as they lost four wickets inside the powerplay, with only 25 on the board. Shamarh Brooks along with Imad Wasim tried to resurrect the innings but the former departed on 20 in the 10th over.

Wasim was joined by Fabian Allen and he played a fantastic knock. Both Wasim and Allen put 57 between them, with Allen playing aggressively and Wasim playing the role of a second fiddle. Allen brought up his fifty but was dismissed in the last over. His knock helped the Tallawahs get to a respectable total of 116. Experienced campaigner Ravi Rampaul starred with the ball for the Knight Riders, picking up four wickets.

Chasing a modest total, the Knight Riders got off to a worst start, losing both their openers Nicholas Pooran and Tion Webster on ducks. The New Zealand duo of Colin Munro and Tim Seifert steadied the ship for the Knight Riders. Both put 67 between them before Munro was cleaned up by Wasim on 40. This breakthrough created an opening for the Tallawahs.

The Tallawahs fought back into the game with three wickets in quick succession. With 22 required from the last four overs, Akeal Hosein (14*) and Andre Russell (18*) kept their cool and guided their side across the line with five balls to spare. Mohammad Amir was brilliant with the ball for the Tallawahs, finishing with figures of 2/15. They did pick up six wickets but were unsuccessful in defending the total.
