Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday announced that they have signed Sri Lanka pacer Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for New Zealand quick Adam Milne for the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, said a release by IPL.
Chennai Super Kings have signed up the Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for the New Zealand quick Adam Milne, who has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2022 with a hamstring injury. Milne suffered the injury during Super Kings’ first match of the season, against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26, and has not featured in the tournament since.

Pathirana replaces Adam Milne
Matheesha Pathirana, 19, played the Under-19 World Cup 2022 for Sri Lanka. A right-arm pacer with a slinging action, Pathirana picked up 7 wickets from 4 matches in the tournament. He also played the Under-19 World Cup in 2020.
According to an IPL release, the defending champions have signed Pathirana for his base price of INR 20 lakh.
