Extension of IPL Bidding for Two New teams
The IPL Governing Council, on Tuesday, also decided to unveil the two new franchises on 25 October 2021. The deadline to submit the bids was recently extended to October 10.
How many bidders had participated in the bidding for New IPL Franchises?
It is learned that about 11 bidders had bought the tender document so far. The BCCI has set the minimum bid price for each of the new franchises in the region of INR 2000 crore (USD 270 million approx). Yes! It is Rs. 2000 Crore!!!

How Many Cities in the Battle for New IPL Franchises?
There are six cities in the fray, including

Successful bidders owning the new teams for all time. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow could be the venue choices for the franchises. [Not confirmed yet]
Tender for the IPL media rights
The BCCI has also decided to issue a tender for the IPL media rights for the next cycle (2023-27) on October 25. Star India paid a record 16,347.5 crore to bag the secured IPL rights for both television rights and Worldwide digital rights for the period of 2018-22 seasons i.e IPL season 11 to IPL Season 15 (Total 5 Years Contract).

New IPL teams to be announced on Oct. 25:
Last two league games of IPL at same time to avoid giving unfair advantage to a team. “In a first for the IPL, the last two league matches before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs will be played concurrently,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a release. The two games will feature Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in one and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the another one.
