Southern Brave got off to a sensational start, thanks to their openers Paul Stirling and Quinton de Kock. Stirling took on the bowling from the word go and de Kock played the role of a second fiddle perfectly. They put up a 100-run stand between them for the first wicket as they ruled Fire out of the contest.

de Kock departed on 37 on the 78th ball but not before laying a platform for a solid chase. Stirling remained unbeaten on 74 of just 42 balls to take his side across the line with 18 balls to spare to win the game by nine wickets. Stirling’s knock comprised of 10 fours and two maximums.

Welsh Fire remain winless in the Hundred 2022

Nothing has gone right for Welsh Fire in this edition of the Hundred. They have played five games so far and lost all and are languishing at the bottom of the table. Their batters failed to adapt to the conditions on Monday and it resulted in them losing another fixture in this year’s competition.

Southern Brave are the defending champions but they had a similar journey as that of Fire. They won their first game but lost the next four games. Brave got back to winning ways but they have very thin chances of qualifying for the playoffs. They will hope to win their remaining two games.

Player of the Match

George Garton was named the player of the match for his outstanding spell of bowling, returning figures of 3/7 in his 15 balls.

Not normal to have such good bowling conditions. I had to go off as I wasn’t hundred percent. There was some swing. Focussed on accuracy more than swing. Different bowling attack to the last year. Tonight it came off.

We love Stirling both on and off the field. He showed how good he is. Take every game as it comes. Every game is a must win. We were in this position last year as well.

Score Summary:
