According to data released by the Dubai RTA, around 1.7 million people travel on the Dubai Metro’s Red Line and Green Line routes daily, and Dubai Metro is considered one of the safest, cleanest public transport systems in the world. In particular, the Dubai Metro has a total of 47 stations running on two routes, the Red Line and the Green Line. The names of these stations have seen frequent changes in the previous years, causing some confusion for new metro users or those using the metro after a short or long hiatus, causing inconvenience to commuters.
New Metro Station Names
Read on to know the new and updated names of all Dubai Metro stations to ensure a smooth journey. So below is the complete details of current names and updated names of Dubai Metro stations;
Centrepoint: The current name of Al Rashidiya Metro Station which was on the Red Line route is to be called as Centrepoint Metro Station.
Max: Al Jafilia Metro station on the Red Line is now renamed as Max Metro Station.
Sobha Reality: The current name of the metro station which used to be Dubai Marina/DAMAC Properties on the Red Line has been changed to Sobha Reality.
Onpassive: The metro station which was called Noor Islamic Bank / Noor Bank / Al Safa on Red Line Metro has now been renamed as Onpassive. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the name change of the Dubai metro station in Al Safa. Al Safa Metro station will now be called ONPASSIVE, for which an AI Technology company has the branding rights. The rebranding and partnership will last 10 years.
ADCB: Al Karama metro station which was on the Red Line route is now functioning under the name ADCB.
Equity: The metro station formerly known as First Gulf Bank / First Abu Dhabi Bank / Umm Al Sheif on the Red Line is now operating under the name Equity.
Al Khail: The Nakheel Metro station in the Red Line area of Dubai Marina has now been renamed as Al Khail.
Mashreq: Al Fahidi Metro station also known as Sharaf DG on Green Line route is now updated as Mashreq Metro Station.
DMCC: The metro station formerly known as Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) on the Red Line metro line is now functioning as DMCC metro station.
Jebal Ali: The metro station named Nakheel Harbor and Tower on the Red Line now operates under the name Jebal Ali. All metro station names have been changed as mentioned above so it is best to continue your journey with the updated name list released by RTA to ensure hassle-free journeys.
