- Pool A: Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, France and South Africa
- Pool B: Belgium, India, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland
Women
- Pool A: Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan, China and France

The eight-time champions find themselves pitted against a tough lineup including reigning Olympic champions and World No. 2 Belgium, powerhouse Australia, Rio Games gold medallist Argentina, New Zealand, and Ireland. With a current world ranking of third, India has proven its prowess on numerous occasions. However, overcoming adversaries like Australia and Argentina has historically posed significant challenges for the Indian squad.
In contrast, Pool A comprises the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, France, and South Africa, setting the stage for intense competition among these formidable teams.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) finalized the pools for both men’s and women’s hockey competitions following the conclusion of the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers. The selection was based on the FIH World Rankings as of the qualification deadline.
While the men’s team prepares for their Paris campaign, India’s women’s team, unfortunately, won’t be participating in the upcoming Olympics. Despite their commendable performance in Tokyo, where they secured a fourth-place finish, the women’s team failed to qualify after suffering a setback against Japan in the Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi.
In the women’s competition in Paris, the absence of the Indian contingent leaves a noticeable void. Reigning Olympic champions Netherlands lead Pool A, joined by Belgium, Germany, Japan, China, and hosts France. Meanwhile, Pool B features Australia, current silver medallist Argentina, Great Britain, Spain, USA, and South Africa.
