IPL 2022 Player Auction: The IPL Player Registration closed on January 20th 2022. Total of 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) have signed up to be part of IPL 2022 Auction.

IPL 2022 Auction: The IPL Player Registration closed on January 20th 2022. Total of 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) have signed up to be part of IPL 2022 Auction. IPL 2022 edition is going to be the biggest in the history of IPL with it’s going to become a Mega Auction.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date

IPL 2022 Auction date is officially confirmed and announced on 23rd December 2021. BCCI has decided to held the IPL 2022 Mega Auction on February 12 and 13 at Bengaluru. Bangalore will be the venue for this mega event. It is expected to be a 2-day event scheduled for IPL 2022.

IPL Mega Auction 2022

The IPL event used to be in the form of a Mini Auction but now it is going to be a Mega Auction from IPL 2022. The two-day IPL Mega Auction will see 10 Teams bidding for some of the finest talents in world cricket. The players list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 Associate players. The detailed list is as below:

IPL 2022 auction purse swells to INR 90 crore

The salary purse for the IPL 2022 auction has been set at INR 90 crore per team, an increase from the IPL 2021 auction purse of 85 crore.

If one of the eight older franchises retains four players, they will be debited INR 16 crore for the first, INR 12 crore for the second, INR 8 crore for the third and INR 6 crore for the fourth – making for a total deduction of INR 42 crore.

For all ten franchises, the amounts for retaining either three, two or one player are the same.

If they retain three players then their slabs are: INR 15 crore, INR 11 crore and INR 7 crore, for a total of INR 33 crore.

If two players are retained, then the slabs are INR 14 crore and INR 10 crore, for a total of INR 24 crore.

For only one player, INR 14 crore will be deducted from a franchise’s auction purse.

For uncapped retained players, the amount deducted will be INR 4 crore, whether he is the only retained player or among a few.

Total of 33 Players have been retained / picked ahead of the Player Auction. The existing 8 IPL Franchises have retained a total of 27 players while the 2 new IPL teams have picked 6 players ahead of the Auction.

The Every IPL team spent on retaining their greatest players and prevented them from adding their names to the 2022 mega auction pool.

IPL 2022 will witness a mega auction with mega price tag in Bangalore, mega matches in Mumbai, and mega League in India for the 15 s. Defending Champion planned to host the first IPL 15 Match will be played in the M. A. Chidambaram, Chennai for CSK vs KKR. However, the venue for the opening match will be revised to Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai for the IPL 2022 in India.
