In a thrilling encounter, Royal Challengers Bengaluru emerged victorious against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 41st league match of the ongoing IPL cricket series. Led by Du Plessis, Bengaluru put up a commendable performance to secure a 35-run win over the Sunrisers.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a challenging total of 206 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli top-scored for Bengaluru with 51 runs, followed closely by Patidar who contributed 50 runs to the team total.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad fell short of the target, managing to score 171 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Sabash Ahmed and Pat Cummins were the top scorers for the Sunrisers, with 40 and 31 runs respectively.

Speaking after the match, Bengaluru captain Du Plessis expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance. He said, “We have given a good fight in the last two matches. Sunrisers scored more than 270 runs, and we went for 260 runs. Similarly, we lost the match against KKR by one run. A win will definitely give us confidence when we have been losing such close matches. With today’s win, we will sleep soundly. Confidence comes automatically if you win the competition. I am happy that we have won the Indian competition in that respect.”

Du Plessis also highlighted the improved performance of the team batting lineup, saying, “At the beginning of this series, only Virat Kohli was accumulating runs. Now Cameron Green is accumulating runs, which adds to our advantage.”

Commenting on the challenges faced by the team, Du Plessis mentioned, “It is noteworthy that while it was difficult to keep Chinnaswamy on the field, it was difficult to play against other teams.”

With this win, Royal Challengers Bengaluru strengthens its position in the tournament and will be looking to carry the momentum forward in the upcoming matches.
