The highest powerplay score in IPL history is 105 runs, achieved by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2017.
RCB was batting first, and their opening duo of Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle went all guns blazing to take their team to an astounding total in just six overs.
Kohli smashed a blistering 75 off just 32 balls, while Gayle played second fiddle with his sedate knock of 49 off 21 balls. The KKR bowlers were completely clueless as they leaked runs at an alarming rate, conceding more than ten runs per over.
Though RCB lost some momentum after the powerplay, they still managed to post a mammoth total of 213/2. This record-breaking performance is widely regarded as one of the most exhilarating displays of T20 cricket ever witnessed.
What is Powerplay in IPL?
