Why India vs Pakistan match is always in demand?

“I saw a lot of regard and respect from him and that hasn’t changed regardless of the fact that he is probably the top batsman in the world right now across formats, performing so consistently. And rightly so, he has amazing talent and I have always enjoyed watching him play.

“So that hasn’t changed. He is performing now, and he is coming into his own, but I don’t see his attitude or his approach change towards me, which is a very good sign of someone who is very grounded in the foundations of his upbringing,”

Top Babar Azam knocks

In this article, let’s look at five brilliant knocks by Babar Azam in international cricket

119 vs Sri Lanka, Galle, 2022

Babar Azam’s 25th international hundred will be extremely special for the batter for a long time. It was probably the best knock by the 27-year-old. As Pakistan were following a score of 222 against Sri Lanka in a Test match at Galle, they witnessed a collapse of their batting line-up.
The team ended up losing the first seven wickets at a score of 85. While the wickets kept falling at one end, Babar held his fort to ensure a good score for his team. The captain smacked 119 runs off 244 balls. His inning helped the Men in Green in registering a respectable total of 218 runs. Notably, it was also the seventh Test hundred for Babar.

196 vs Australia, Karachi, 2022

Babar’s highest score in the purest format of the game came in 2022, as well. It was in March against Australia that the skipper produced a scintillating knock of 196 runs. Playing at the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan had to show an exemplary batting performance in the final innings to save the series.

This was when the skipper stepped up. Azam hammered 196 runs with the help of 21 boundaries to take his team to a score of 443 runs. It was also a bittersweet moment for the right-hander as he missed his well-deserved double hundred by just four runs.

158 vs England, Edgbaston, 2021

The final One Day International of the three-match series between Pakistan and England in 2021 saw Babar Azam scoring his highest ODI score. Put to bat first, the Men in Green registered a massive score of 331 runs in 50 overs.

The 27-year-old was the top run-getter with a knock of 158 runs. His inning was laced with 14 boundaries and four maximums at a strike rate of 113.67. However, his knock came in a losing cause, as Pakistan lost by three wickets.

122 vs South Africa, Centurion, 2021

Babar belongs to the rare category of players who have an international hundred across all three formats. Playing the final T20I against South Africa, the opening batter won the game for his team by nine wickets. It was a crucial match for the Men in Green as the series was leveled at 1-1.

Chasing the total of 204 runs, Babar Azam registered a score of 122 runs off 59 balls with the help of 15 fours and four sixes. He also stitched a partnership of a whopping 197 runs with his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan.

103 vs West Indies, Multan, 2022

Playing against West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium in June this year, Babar smacked another century in the 50-over format. As Pakistan were set to chase a score of 306 runs in their allotted 50 overs, they seemed in trouble early in the league. The host lost their opening batter, Fakhar Zaman, at a score of 11.

However, the team had nothing to worry about as at number three walked in Babar Azam, who shifted the entire momentum towards Pakistan. The captain slammed 103 runs off 107 balls, including nine boundaries. His exploits helped the team in winning in 49.2 overs by five wickets.
