Who is this Arshdeep Singh? Arshdeep Singh is an Indian cricketer, who is a left-arm medium-fast bowler and brilliant death bowler for Punjab Kings in IPL. He made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 19 September 2018. Prior to his List A debut, he was named in India’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Mumbai: Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who plays for Punjab in the IPL, has been attracting a lot of fans. The 23-year-old Arshdeep looks like he has taken the measure and prepared himself to bowl for the T20 match.

PBKS vs CSK: Even in the crisis phase of yesterday’s match, the CSK team scored 23 runs in the 16th over. Thus 47 runs should be scored in 4 overs. On the field are Jadeja, Rayudu and Dhoni in the back row. It is at this point that Arshdeep Singh bowls. In the crucial 17th over of the match, Arshdeep bowled profusely and conceded just 6 runs. This is the turning point of the match.

The tactics he used against Dhoni impressed cricket critics. Rabada, who bowled the 18th over, gave up 6 runs and took one wicket. Arshdeep was then given the opportunity to bowl the 19th over which could have determined the game. But this time he has to bowl to Dhoni.

Stunning bowler is at the great form. Even if one hits 15 runs in that over, the last over will be easy. Thus Arshdeep bowled in the big crisis. Arshdeep had almost vacated Dhoni’s wicket in this over. But it did not happen because of a mistake made by Rabada. Arshdeep conceded just 8 runs in that over, including just one four.

What India needed was a major turning point in the game when Dhoni, just 23 years old, gave Arshdeep a crisis with his bowling over Jadeja. Fans are urging Arshdeep Singh, who is mixing in bowling, to immediately give him a chance in the Indian team and prepare him for the World Cup series, as Arshdeep has so far taken 33 wickets in 31 IPL matches.

  2. 2021: 13.2 overs, 129 runs, 8 wkts, ER 9.68
  3. 2022: 6 overs, 34 runs, 1 wkt, ER 5.67 (best this season)

Arshdeep’s combined ER (8.64) in this phase of last 3 IPLs is comparable to Bumrah’s combined ER (8.36)

Arshdeep said, “Punjab Kings has given me a great platform to show my bowling abilities and gain confidence in the past seasons. I have picked up so much from my seasoned and experienced team mates. The exposure has helped me as a bowler. When you bowl at established international cricketers like David Warner, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, you want to give your best. I’m going to do what I was doing earlier too, give my best and help win matches. I don’t do much math, not thinking about the money, but living up to the expectations and delivering.”

“Arsh (Arshdeep) has been the best death bowler in the comp, that’s what the stats say. He has got a lot of talent, drive and ambition. And he is just a good bloke. So nice to have him around. I know I am going to bowl at the death. Arsh has been magnificent. He has been leading the way in that discipline. Everyone else knows their roles,” Rabada said in the post-match presentation.

Since his 2019 IPL debut, Arshdeep Singh has proved crucial to Punjab’s bowling line-up and has taken the wickets of several prominent batters.

Arshdeep Singh deserves to make his India debut in the Ireland T20 series, no one deserves more than him right now.
