Adidas Official Kit Sponsor: The BCCI is ready to clinch a large contract with athletic goods major Adidas. If all goes well, Adidas will become the India Cricket Team’s uniform sponsor by June 1. As a result, Rohit Sharma and his teammates will wear Adidas jerseys for the World Test Championship Final, which begins on June 7 at Kennington Oval in London. Killer Jeans is the current jersey sponsor, having purchased the rights from MPL Sports. But, BCCI is aiming to get on board a well-known brand linked with sports.

Between 2016 to 2020, Nike was the final big sports company to sponsor India’s uniform. In 2016, MPL Sports (Mobile Premier League) paid Rs 370 Crore to become India’s shirt sponsor. MPL withdrew the arrangement, giving over the rights to Killer Jeans, which was supposed to last until December 2023. Killer Jeans joined the team during the Bangladesh series.

Nevertheless, with no expertise in sporting goods production, KKCL’s Killer Jeans has not been a perfect match for India Cricket or the BCCI’s brand image. It hasn’t contributed much value because the majority of the players are sponsored by huge brands like Nike, Adidas, or Puma. As a result, the BCCI has been looking at signing a large brand.

Adidas previously sponsored the Mumbai Indians and the England Cricket Team. Adidas sponsors the current India squad, including captain Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, and Rishabh Pant.

Adidas, on the other hand, will re-enter the national cricket team market through India Cricket Team. Adidas now only supports Nottinghamshire, South East Stars, and Surrey after parting ways with England.
