Babar Azam score 9000 runs: Babar Azam, one of the best batters of this age, has been on fire this season in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The batsman is currently second only to Mohammad Rizwan in the list of top run scorers. Babar broke a world record while guiding Peshawar Zalmi to a crucial victory over Islamabad United with a 64-run knock. Babar became the first T20 cricket player to reach 9000 runs in the quickest time, surpassing legends like Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.

Babar’s 39-ball 64 against Islamabad was his sixth season half-century. In a total of 245 innings, Babar amassed 9000 runs in the game’s shortest format. Gayle previously held the record, having accomplished the feat in 249 innings. Virat Kohli is third on the list after climbing Mt. 9k in 271 innings.

Following the top-five duo of Babar, Gayle, and Kohli are Australians David Warner (273 innings) and Aaron Finch (281 innings).

After their victory over Islamabad, Peshawar also gained entry into the Eliminator 2, where they will take on the Lahore Qalandars. The contest winner will compete in the final on Sunday against Mulatan Sultans.

Babar would like to continue playing well for Peshawar Zalmi as they attempt to win the PSL 8 championship for a few more games.
