Irfan Pathan in Cobra: One of the finest Indian all-rounders of the modern era, former Indian cricket Irfan Pathan is all set to kick start the second innings of his life. After trying his hands at cricket and commentary, Pathan will be entertaining the fans on the big screen. The 37-year-old will be playing the role of the villain in Chiyaan Vikram’s South Indian film ‘Cobra’.
Vikram is returning to the big screen after a long wait of three years. Thus, there is a lot of buzz surrounding Cobra. Further, the anticipation of seeing their favorite all-rounder as an actor has doubled the excitement of the fans. The action-triller drama will be released in three languages: Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on August 31.

A glance at the Cobra movie
The movie stars Chiyaan Vikram and KGF fame Shrinidhi Shetty in the starring role, while Pathan will be portraying the role of the nemesis of the protagonist. The AR Rahman musical is being directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu while it also features K.S. Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew, Anandraj, Robo Shankar, Mia George, Mirnalini Ravi, and Meenakshi Govindrajan.
The production house dropped the Cobra trailer on August 25 and it has only added to the hype for the thriller. In the trailer, we can see Vikram playing a mathematical genius and living the life of a maths teacher. However, he is much more than that.

The film has been shot at different locations with Vikram changing his look now and then. The actor has taken a total of 20 different looks in the movie. Meanwhile, Pathan will be a Turkey Interpol agent, Aslam Yilmaz, who is hunting for the cobra in the movie.

“I have picked up quite a few Tamil words while working in this film and it has been a great learning experience. People will be pleasantly surprised with my performance. In fact, I was offered another film a few months ago. But I refused the offer as I did not like the role,” Irfan Pathan added as quoted by E Times.

There’s no doubt that the 37-year-old will be adding another feather to his illustrious cap with his acting debut on August 31. Speaking of his cricket career, Irfan delivered some match-winning performances during his stint with the Indian team that spanned from 2003 to 2012.
He featured in a total of 29 Test matches picking 100 wickets and scoring 1105 runs. As far as his ODI career is concerned, the younger Pathan brother amassed 1544 runs from 120 games at an average of 23.4 and a strike rate of 79.5. He has 173 ODI wickets to his name.
