First Innings
New Zealand opted to bat first after winning the toss. Shaheen Afridi dismissed Finn Allen in the very first over. However Kane Williamson continued his form. Conway ran out for 21 runs. Glenn Philips was caught and bowled by Nawaz to put New Zealand in deep trouble.
Steady Partnership
The duo of Williamson and Daryl Mitchell kept attacking and added 68 runs for the fourth wicket. Afridi bowled Williamson for 46 runs. However Mitchell quickfired unbeaten 53 off just 35 deliveries with the help of one six. Neesham scored unbeaten important 16 runs to help Blackcaps post 152 runs on the board.

Second Innings
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan proved that they are big match players. Both the players came back to form in the crucial match. They started attacking from the first over and their intent was clear. The magnificent duo of Babar-Rizwan added 105 runs in 12.4 overs. Trent Boult dismissed Azam (53 runs) & Rizwan (57 runs), but it was too late for New Zealand. Mohammad Haris scored 30 runs to seal the deal for Pakistan. Pakistan won the match in just 19.1 overs.
Poor Fielding Costs New Zealand
New Zealand have been the best fielding side of the tournament until the Super 12s with an 88 percent success rate. They dropped 3 and held 19 catches (before the semis), but unfortunately for them – they missed 3 catches and a couple of run-outs tonight which only aggravated matters as Babar Azam (dropped on 0) made the most of his opportunity to compile his best score of this World Cup and post a 100-plus partnership (the first pair to have 3 100-plus stands in T20 WCs) with Rizwan while at it.
Man of the Match
Mohammad Rizwan won the player of the match award for his brilliant knock.
