Breaking: Shardul Thakur replaces Axar Patel in India’s 15-man squad for T20 World Cup. Decision came after the terrible performance of Axar Patel during IPL 2021. The changes have been made by BCCI after monitoring the current form & performance of the players, all of whom are playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.

Axar, meanwhile, joins the list of stand-by players for the squad, along with Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar

The BCCI also confirmed the name of 8 players who will be staying back in the UAE to assist Team India. One Change has been made in the squad as All rounder Axer Patel has been replaced by Thakur. He was doing well in Test and T20I with both bat and ball. Hope to see him as a well performed player and would help our nation to steal the Trophy.

  • He has been good with ball, taking 18 wickets so far from 15 games.
  • He has been playing with at average of 27.16 and a strike rate of 18.61.
  • He is part of the Chennai Super Kings team and hope to play his match in final
