Aldar Headquarters Building (Coin Building)

Aldar Headquarters (HQ) building is Arabia’s first circular structure, situated on a high peninsula with stunning city and ocean views. The 23-story, 110-meter-high skyscraper has been dubbed One of the World’s Most Dazzling Corporate Offices by worldwide building organization, Emporis, for its creative design, aesthetic impact, and utility. The Best Futuristic Design prize was given to it at the 2008 Building Exchange Conference as well.

Aldar HQ Building also popularly called as “Coin Building” and “Circular Building”.

The revolutionary semi-spherical building, created by MZ Architects, consists of two circular convex-shaped facades connected by a thin band of indented glass. This famous, totally glass building has a completely round elevation and curves in every other direction.

The building is mainly famous for its excellent architecture, which accounts for the bustling visitor activity it experiences on an average day. In the evening, when the building is illuminated by the setting sun, the view of the structure only improves.

The circular shape in architecture

The Circle symbolizes unity, stability, rationality. It is also the symbol of infinity, without beginning or end, perfection, the ultimate geometric symbol. It represents a completeness which encompasses all space and Time.

The Sphere, the 2-dimentional circle, is hailed by Boullée as the ideal and perfect form since no trick of perspective can alter its appearance.

The concept

The AlDar Headquarters designed by MZ Architects has a distinctive and innovative design: a semispherical building comprising two circular convex shaped facades linked by a narrow band of indented glazing. This iconic fully glazed structure is completely circular in elevation and curved in all other directions.

Aldar HQ Headquarters Location

The Aldar HQ building is located at Al Raha Beach, a brand-new community in the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the same-named Emirate. This is the initial phase of a project that, when finished, could accommodate more than 120,000 people. The structure has a prime site, visible from the Dubai-Abu Dhabi expressway, encircled by the city, the sea, and the canal.

How to reach Aldar HQ Building

You must go 20 kilometers from the major city to get to Aldar HQ Building. Because there isn’t much public transportation in this neighborhood, take a cab instead.

From outside, you can get the greatest perspective of the structure. Since the structure is the water, it has a lovely view in front of it. The building vista is much more stunning after dusk and in the evening. One can take a lot of photos of the building and also along with the building.
