TATA WPL 2023: The BCCI has named Tata as the Title sponsor of the first Women’s Premier League

TATA WPL 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Tata as the title sponsor of the first Women’s Premier League on Tuesday (WPL). TATA is therefore the title sponsor of both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
“The detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, process for submissions of bids, rights and obligations of the title sponsor, etc. are contained in the ‘Request for Proposal’ (“RFP”) which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 1,00,000 (Indian Rupees One Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax. The procedure to procure the RFP documents is enlisted in Annexure A to this notice. The RFP will be available for purchase till February 9, 2023.”

The WPL’s debut season is set to begin on Saturday, March 4. The Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai will host the first game between the Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians.
Together with GG and MI, the other three teams in the competition are UP Warriorz, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals.
The league stage will consist of 20 matches, followed by the Eliminator on March 24. The final will be held on Sunday, March 26 at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium.
The auction for the competition was held earlier this month, and Indian top-order batsman Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player. Ashleigh Gardner from Australia and Nat Sciver-Brunt from England both received good offers.
