Twitter Reaction: WPL 2023 Opening Ceremony Glimpse
WPL 2023 Opening Ceremony: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) finally begins, and it does so in a whirl of lights and superstars at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani, both from Bollywood, are set to perform to kick off the league. AP Dhillon, a Punjabi pop singer, is also scheduled to play.
The ceremony begin at 6.25 p.m., followed by the toss for the first match between the Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians at 7.30 p.m. The entire event has been put back by half an hour, with the announcement made earlier in the day by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Mandira Bedi waves goodbye to the stadium supporters as the closing ceremony concludes. It was entertaining, but it won’t be able to compete with what comes next since there will be no choreography or prepared actions. It will be T20 cricket, and we have seen that the format is at its most exciting in the IPL. There’s no reason to think it won’t be the case here as well. The captains return, and two of them, Harmanpreet Kaur and Beth Mooney, are poised to return to the middle in time for the toss.
