Issy Wong of the Mumbai Indians struck out three players, including Sophie Ecclestone, Kiran Navgire, and Simran Shaikh, to record the first-ever hat-trick in WPL history.
Taking advantage of Kiran Navgire’s strategy to send everything to the stands, the England pacer removed her in the 13th over. Nat Sciver-Brunt was able to catch the ball after Navgire attempted to loft it over midwicket.
She then bowled a cross-seamed delivery that was full and went directly to the middle stump. Simran made an attempt to haggle and find the line but failed miserably, discovering her stumps in a mess. As an inside edge shook the stumps, Wong removed Sophie Ecclestone to complete her hat trick.
