The 2011 Indian Premier League (IPL) season was the fourth edition of the tournament and was held in India. It featured ten teams competing in a round-robin format followed by knockout matches.

The Chennai Super Kings successfully defended their title from the previous year, becoming the champions of the 2011 IPL season. Led by the inspirational captaincy of MS Dhoni, the Super Kings showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, finishing at the top of the league stage with 18 points from 14 matches.

In a high-scoring final, the Chennai Super Kings posted a formidable total of 205/5 in their 20 overs, courtesy of brilliant batting performances from Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey. In response, the Royal Challengers Bangalore fought valiantly but fell short, managing 147/8 in their 20 overs, thus handing the Chennai Super Kings a comprehensive 58-run victory.

The 2011 IPL season witnessed exceptional performances from various players, including Murali Vijay, Michael Hussey, MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, and Virat Kohli, among others. The Chennai Super Kings’ back-to-back triumphs in 2010 and 2011 further solidified their status as one of the most successful franchises in the IPL.
